1000 SQ FT House Tour - Making the Most of Your Space
Just a little over a year ago I moved into a smaller home, 1000 sq. ft., with my daughter. One of the main reasons for the move was living in a 2 story home with the bedrooms both upstairs and the only bathroom at the time downstairs we needed to make a change and go some where that is more accessible for my daughter.
I knew moving into a smaller space would be somewhat challenging but it was our best option. I just wanted to share our space and give you an idea on what we have been doing to make the most of the space as well as keeping it open and accessible as possible for my daughter.
I have also been trying to minimize the stuff that we have (mostly the stuff that I have and somewhat what my daughter has). Clutter for me creates clutter in my mind and being able to focus seems almost impossible.
As far as design goes, I am really, really loving the minimal and modern look and feel of homes right now. Clean lines mixed with extremely comfy pieces mixed in. Honestly, I am going to stick with the neutral color pallet overall in the house that way I can easily add in color when my moods and styles change. I also love that I am able to spot a spider from a mile away (at least on the walls and ceilings), haha.
Another thing that I have learned just in the past year is that lighting is EVERYTHING! Having all different types of lighting throughout your house that you can change throughout the day and when your moods change really makes a huge difference in how I feel overall.
Check out the video I posted below for a more in-depth tour of our space so you can better understand what I mean. Let me know if you have any tips or tricks that helped you with your space! I would love to hear some ideas from you.
Until next time! <3
