How to Create your Dream Bedroom | Bedroom Makeover

Welcome back everyone, or welcome if you’re new! I have finally ventured into creating a peaceful, cozy space for myself to just get away from the everyday stresses! I needed a room that made me feel happy and motivated. I am a person who really is effected by my surroundings. So I wanted to give you guys an in-depth view of my new oasis, my bedroom. Hopefully you guys will either take some inspiration/ideas from this or even motivate you to create your own space.

I of course had to start with the paint. This room has one tiny window that lets very little light in. So I wanted to paint it white so that it would of course brighten up the room. Just to preface, this house if a very old house. So it has A LOT of character. I am not sure why the previous owners only half way painted in here, but they did and that was what started this entire project. I added an accent wall which kind of acts as a headboard to my bed.

Once I painted I was going to just clean up and leave it as is. Then I thought, man, I have not purchased a new mattress in over 10 years (gross, I know). So I started researching on affordable mattresses and here is what I found, the Lucid Memory Foam Mattress. It is actually pretty awesome. I kind of wish I would have purchases the “soft” version, but I purchased the “medium”. It is fine though. I am sure over the years it will become softer.

Once that was done, I needed new bedding so I headed over to Target and go everything there. I will link the pieces I got below.

After that I needed a cozy chair for the corner of my room to chill and watch TV at night or to do work on my laptop, like I am doing currently. I am loving it. I think, though, I am going to have to find one of those floor poufs to prop my feet up on. Then it would be perfect! I also want to find a lighter throw blanket for the hot summer months. The chair is the “Big Joe”, which I purchased from Joss & Main. I will link it here. I absolutely LOVE it! I highly recommend and adult sized bean bag chair.

From there, all of my main big pieces were in. It was time to start adding in the decor. I did a DIY painting for above my bed. I purchased two plug in wall sconces that I purchased from Amazon. I got a natural colored area rug from Target. I also found this really cool neon light from Target that says “Good Vibes”. I love that piece. I did a DIY sunglass hanger and I painted some wire basket shelves that I got from Target years ago for added storage. My floor mirror is from Target too.

That is pretty much it. I love being in this room. I still have a few things to do such as paint the steel door that leads into my little attic storage space and paint the bathroom door and closet doors.

I highly recommend just changing up your space, even small changed such as rearranging your room can really re-motivate you and make you feel new again. I hope you guys enjoyed this little room makeover. Check out the video below to watch it come together! Let me know in the comments below what is your favorite thing to do to wind down from the day? I’ll talk to you guys soon!
