5 Steps to Flawless Legs
If you’re like me you may have bruises, scratches, veins, scars, etc. on your legs. I still want to be able to wear my skirts, dresses and shorts without being self-conscious. Even though I should be saying "Oh well, embrace the flaws", but some days I just want to feel my best! Here is my routine to get flawless looking legs in 5 steps. Some steps are definitely optional but I recommend taking the extra time if it is for a special occasion!
Step 1: Exfoliate Exfoliation is key when you need your legs to look their best. I like to first use a dry brush before entering the shower. It helps with circulation and helps to start the exfoliation process. If you have never done dry brushing I will link the tutorial I follow here. Then once I’m in the shower I like to use this scrub and gently exfoliate my whole body in circular motions.
Step 2: Shave - Right after the initial exfoliation you will continue to exfoliate by shaving. Enough said really.
Step 3: Laser hair removal at home - this step is optional but is definitely my new favorite! I have been using this at home laser hair removal device for some time and I have been loving the results. Their reviews and testimonials are phenomenal. Definitely be sure to check them out. I use this on my legs and armpits and I just leave it at that for the night to give my skin a break. The next day I will continue on with the rest of my list. (They say to wait 24 hours after doing laser hair removal before using any kind of self-tan).
Step 4: Self-Tan - This step I do the following night, usually once everyone else is in bed, that way I don’t get interrupted and it can just develop overnight. It seems like the best time for me personally, but whatever works best for you, do that. Here are my 3 favorite self-tanners: St. Tropez Classic, Loving Tan 2 HR Express, Bondi Sands Aero Foam

I get pretty good results from all 3, but don’t get discouraged if it’s not perfect. You will get better over time, practice makes perfect. I like to put a mix of lotion and oil on places that tend to be more dry. My heels and ankle area, my knees, my elbows and my knuckles. This just helps it blend and not stick so badly to these areas. I like to use a self-tanning mitt applicator to apply and apply it from the bottom up in circular motions. When I do each section for example my leg, I apply it to my calve, my thigh and then use whatever is left over on my mitt to do my feet and knees. I also like to use a dense foundation brush to apply it to places like my hands and feet. Anyway, once you're done, follow the instructions for your self-tanner and then get ready for bed.
Step 5: Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs - this stuff is amazing! I like to put this on right before I get dressed when I’m planning on showing off my legs. It just even further perfects any areas that aren’t your fave and just helps your legs to look flawless! I normally buy the spray version and spray it into my hands and rub on in circular motions. Let it dry for a minute and your good to go! This stuff is waterproof and transfer resistant so no need to worry!
One other EXTRA thing I like to do from time to time is to add a liquid highlight down the center of the front of my leg. It just adds a little something extra and kind of acts as reverse contouring.
Always remember to moisturize at night to keep the self tan looking bomb. Let me know what your favorite products are in the comments below! I love to try new things.
